2010-03-08 Honor Women Every Day
Today is a chance to celebrate, honor and reflect on the many ways that women have changed our world by simple everyday acts as mothers, teachers and wisdom leaders. They have championed causes of the human family, equal rights for all and fostered heart filled leadership creating community and standing for peace within the home and on the planet. All of these qualities are related to Venus in a person's Vedic astrology horoscope. Venus is about connectivity and that each of us is not separate but part of a human family. This connectivity is what Venus represents in each person's life. For most men, Venus represents the partner in their life and for everyone Venus represents the quality of emotional connection they will find in relationship, what joy will be in their life and how a person connects with beauty, the beauty of their essence and the sublime in their life. Today, the planet Venus is in the constellation Pisces having just moved there on March 3, 2010. This is what is called an exalted Venus in Vedic astrology, for the qualities of caring connection, bringing beauty to the world or the connection with the cosmos expresses itself in the first degree. (Einstein had an exalted Venus and he had a mind which connected with the laws the Universe and of time itself. This is an example of a very connected Venus, it is just connected to the heart beat of the cosmos.) If someone is born with Venus in this region of the sky, usually each Spring, then the artistic and conceptual ways that a person connects with their world are heightened. So, on international Women's Day, we have the qualities of loving connection exalted in our skies. Enjoy the sweet joy that Venus shines on us today and celebrate the women in your life, and how they shine their beauty into your life. Sidebar: Women like Eleanor Roosevelt are important to remember today as well. A woman who's fiery direction created the Universal Declaration of Rights. See the declaration here: http://www.udhr.org/UDHR/default.htm Eleanor Roosevelt mothered the world and felt responsible to protect the world's children. 2010-03-01 Go Days

Benjamin Franklin 2010-02-15 Happy Chinese New Year - Year of the Tiger
It is Year 4707 according to the Taoist or Chinese lunar calendar. This year Valentine's Day falls on Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is the celebration of the Spring New Moon (the second New Moon after Winter solstice to be exact). The year of the Tiger occurs when Jupiter comes to Aquarius, once every 12 years. So, those born with Jupiter in Aquarius are Tigers. In the Taoist tradition, it is said that the intelligence of that animal lives in those people's heart-minds. Tiger ways are playful, inspiring, sometimes revolutionary in action or thought and often entertaining with their wit, while being humble. Tiger years bring out the qualities of Tiger in everyone, and those who are comfortable with those qualities can transform and use those talents for self improvement. Jupiter in Aquarius also corresponds to the Indian celebration of Kumba Mela, a great gathering of Saints and a sacred time to be blessed by the A dawn of hope and change is the theme of this Tiger year. Coincidentally, Jupiter will be moving from Tiger domain to Rabbit domain in May of 2010. So even though it is Year of the Tiger, Jupiter moves to the constellation of Pisces in May. This is one of those unique years, where Tiger actually occurred May through July of 2009 and Christmas 2009 through May 2010, according to the actual movements in the heavens, or sidereal astrology. Remember when many people started to feel hope in May and June last year? Again this hope and inspiration has welled in our "collective consciousness". Note that May 2010 through May 2011, Jupiter will move into its own domain of Pisces. This will herald a social and economic movement for the next 10 years, with Saturn the planet of the masses in a healing and pragmatic domain opposite Jupiter in the region of Spiritual evolvement for all. Our wisdom, inspired from the waters of Pisces will nourish the ground of Virgo and a mass movement of spiritual healing will find fertile ground. 2010-01-15 Happy New Moon today! The Moon is waxing after having helped eclipse the Sun in the Indian Ocean at midnight PST last night. This was the longest Solar eclipse for the next 1033 years!
Better yet, Mercury went direct in our skies just before 9 am this morning PST. This makes a very good combination of a waxing Moon (which is great for beginning New ventures) and a clear means to communicating your self and business ideas. Things will begin to reveal themselves now. The last two weeks have been a cocooning time moving from Winter solstice toward the renewing Spring. And with Jupiter now in Aquarius, the hope that many felt in May and June of 2009 is returning. The effects of the eclipse, if it is in a significant area of your life, will continue to affect your immune system and overall energy for the next week. But overall, we all are experiencing a positive movement with this New Moon today. So enjoy, this is a great time to start a new practice, and act on goals that you set at New Years. 2010-01-14 Annular Solar Eclipse on January 15, 2010
The annular Solar eclipse occurs tonight January 14, 2010 around 9 pm U.S. West Coast time and peaks around 11:30PM PST. Find the facts below. UT/Universal time puts the eclipse in the wee hours of January 15th in the Indian Ocean, and the evening of Jan 14th for those of us in the United States. From the viewpoint of Vedic astrology, every day is good for something. Eclipses block the creative forces of the Sun and Moon, which literally block activities of material manifestation and creation. That is why business and physical activities are more difficult and will not be supported for long term growth when conducting them on eclipse days. So, I do not recommend signing any papers for buying houses, marriage or any major business activities on eclipse days. On the other hand, spiritual practices are highly recommended. See the calendar in the previous post to see what days are good for business and to send newsletters and which days are not fruitful, in general. Specific information to your individual experience varies and is part of a custom session. The facts: This is the longest lasting eclipse since January 4, 1992. It is a partial solar eclipse, but the duration of this eclipse will not be rivaled until December 3043, for 1033 more years. Its duration will be 11 minutes and 8 seconds at the Greatest eclipse point in the Indian Ocean, at the same latitude and between Somalia and Malaysia.
The time of greatest eclipse is at 7:06 UT or 23:10 January 14,2010 Pacific Standard Time. Check www.dateandtime.com to find your local time. The eclipse is visible from central Africa through the Maldives, Southeast Bangladesh and into Myanmar (Burma). See the NASA eclipse website for more detailed maps. In Indian astrology, it is not considered good to view eclipses. Eclipses are a metaphor in Vedic astrology stirring certain domains of our cosciousness for healing. Indeed it is a time of letting go of our darkness, which is just an illusion, and a time of losing parts of our selves that no longer serve our highest Good. What do you want to let go of this year? What do you want to stop doing that gets in the way of allowing your radiance? Who would you be if you stopped doing that one thing? What we perceive to be darkness is just our higher Self in healing. What we are losing is the "illusion that anything is negative". What you can do:
Eclipse days are great days to give to charity, recite mantras, or pray if that is natural to you, eat lightly, stay inside and meditate or remain contemplative. It is traditional to take a bath and immerse one self in water for both cleansing and protection. Try being quiet, meditate or give to charity today. We know Haiti needs the world's support right now. The future effects of your efforts will be difficult to know, but trust that you are choosing acts in alignment with the day. 2010-01-06 Great business begins with fertile ground. These dates are for the lucky ones reading this! There are definite days each year that have no foundation for creation or business. Those are the red days on the calendar. See the key below. Look for more explanation of Danger and fruitful days in future blog posts. Anyone reading this blog has access to one to two months ahead. Any one in my business plan program is given the entire year of calendars to supplement their personal danger dates and best dates for 2010.
2009-11-30 Vedic Numerology class in Bellingham, WA by Kathleen M Whalen
Wed Dec 2, 2009 ayurvedichealthcenter Everyone has a number. It comes from the moment of your first breath. Numerology uses your birth date and THREE numbers to help you find harmony within your life. Indian numerology emerged from the cosmic sciences of Vedic astrology and the sacred geometry that describes our harmonious world. Your psychic number comes from the date of your birth day. This governs how you think about yourself and the nature of your mind. Your psychic, life path and name numbers help light up your career, life purpose and how the world responds to you. When these numbers are in harmony, life flows more easily and life feels lucky. When these numbers are not in harmony, then there can be obstacles and difficulties in life. Did you know that sometimes adding or subtracting a middle initial can draw people and situations aligned with your highest good? Come to my class in Bellingham, WA and examine your numbers and learn if your name number is helping or hindering your energy to flow. This topic is fun, inspiring and easy to apply in your life, instantly. I had previously been harvesting from the Blue, Crocus Speciocus that had sprouted within my White Crocus Speciosus. I had hoped that the blue ones were closer to the true source of Saffron.
Well, today my first Purple Crocus Sativus bloom opened. And to my joy and delight, the styles (the stamen like threads) were long, dark maroon and beautiful. I plucked my first three strands with glee. The purple Crocus Sativus are indeed a different shade and shape than the Blue Crocus speciocus. I am beginnning to distinguish the subtle difference between these lovely blossoms. Indeed, the styles from the Blue C. Speciosus are more like a small tree and are a golden yellow as opposed the single style of dark orange/maroon from the Crocus Sativus. This joy was a bit short lived. I quickly discovered that the local wild life had located this incredible stash of corms/bulbs. And whoever is eating these delectables is nibbling the sprouts right off the top of the corms, and leaving the rootlets strewed all over the topsoil. I stopped counting the number of separated tops after 10. I do not mind sharing with the wild life, but this is a hefty investment. Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world and this herb is harvested one time per year, on the day that the blossoms open. I truly have the intention of creating a crop worth harvesting for myself and community. We have had gloriously Sunny and clear days here in Seattle, and so the blossoms will have a chance to open. So, now I am researching what safe method I can employ to keep the extremely healthy critters from eating the rest of my stock. So, I will report how the Saffron tastes in my morning tea after it has dried. I believe the qualities of the magical herb will concentrate with drying. I will also create an intention resonate with Louise Hay's style of maximum Saffron harvest for myself while ensuring plenty of Fall and winter food for the local wild life. The Saffron is gorgeous, and the styles are very long. I can see why the Cretans began selecting this plant for the Saffron over other species some 5,000 years ago in Minoan Crete. 2009-10-31 Promoting Longevity
The path of Juice, the alchemy of longevity and the joy of living Rasayana, "the Path of Juice," is the branch of Ayurveda that deals with rejuvenation. Rasa is life's "fluid reality," in all senses of that word. We can live well only when our juices are created and flow well, for an existence bereft of "juice" is dry and tasteless. The richest lives are rasatmaka, filled to the brim with pure, refreshing, subtle juices generated by the internal practice of Rasa Vidya (alchemy), a spiritual discipline which distills substances and emotional states into one all-encompassing Parama Rasa, a transcendental flavor of God-consciousness that is the zenith of embodied bliss. Most people lose "juice" as they age, especially in this age of Kali Yuga, which is in many ways the nadir of existence in the flesh. The speed and discontinuity that characterizes modern life dries us out; rasayana replenishes and enhances our juice. This lecture will focus on how best to proceed with personal rejuvenation in these challenging times.
